Looking Ahead

Road to 2026: Looking Ahead

2025 has been an amazing year thus far, thank you for sharing it with us! With mission trips in January and April as well as our summer programming, the ball has certainly gotten rolling for us this year and with 2026 right around the corner we are beginning to look ahead towards January for our mission trip.

We are filled with anticipation for our next voyage as we will bring several new ideas into fruition. Through bold efforts, planning and collaboration we are going to make the Manos January 2026 mission trip unlike any that have come before.

Take a look at what’s new for this upcoming new year:

  • A new and mighty Young Adult team with 4 new recruits with various backgrounds and skill sets (the biggest group we’ve taken so far)

  • Partnership with local organizations

  • Noche de Fortuna Game Night with our college students and graduates

  • Baby Oliver’s Baptism

2026 will also mark the return of some Manos fan favorites

  • Scholarships (two Manos to Go and two 8th Graders)

  • Club Intercambio (ESL program)

  • Honor Roll Dinner

  • Scholarship Ceremony

  • Club Aventura (book club)

  • Casitas Project: Iglesia Episcopal Manos de Dios maintenance

  • Vacation Bible School

Road to 2026: New Horizons

Advent this year won’t just bring in Christmas presents, the three wise men will have these new and never-before-seen gifts for us to unwrap along with our usual mission trip activities.

  • Manos is proud to bring 4 young adults as part of our Travel Award program! With backgrounds ranging from construction to social services, we can’t wait for you to meet this new cohort that is certain to rival any superhero crossover team.

  • We will be partnering with Niños de Montaña, a non profit organization that will provide us with a medical and dental brigade in Santa Maria, a small community with limited resources about an hour from Danlí. In addition, we will partner with the optometrist Dr. Walter to deliver a vision clinic in our sister church Iglesia Episcopal Manos de Dios in Danlí.

  • A fortune in fellowship on our new “Noche de Fortuna” game night with exciting games like Jenga, finger soccer, and other board games to strengthen our relationships with the college students and graduates. This event will also be a helping hand from our Manos de Dios college students and graduates   as they help our transitioning high school seniors figure out how to navigate the next steps and the challenges that come with them as they begin their college journey.

  • Rejoicing with Cecia, (our Manos scholarship program coordinator) and her husband Ruben as we baptize their baby Oliver and receive him into our church family!

January 2026

With so many things in store for our team, you can imagine that we need all hands on deck, including yours! Remember the Manos team is not just composed of “Goers”, but “Senders” as well so please send your prayers and encouragement our way and join us in this journey from home. Don’t forget to follow us on our social media to get live updates with stories and pictures from the trip!

Manos would like to express a very special thanks to the College Missions Council for making it possible for 3 young adults to come on mission with us. We would also like to recognize St. Mark’s Episcopal in San Marcos for sponsoring an additional young adult.

The Manos de Dios ministry would like to thank you for all your support and prayers.

¡Muchas gracias!
